I have always had an interest in working with my hands. Art and juggling have been passions of mine since childhood. After Graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design and moving to Gainesville in 1996 I began to study Tai Chi and a healing modality called Reiki. Using my artist-trained hands to help others heal felt like a natural progression.

In the fall of 2003 I began studying at the Florida School of Massage and upon graduation I immediately enrolled in the Milne Institute for Visionary Craniosacral Therapy. This modality has been the foundation of my private practice.

The goal of Visionary Craniosacral Therapy has become my mission statement: to facilitate a free pelvis, an open heart, and a clear mind. To me this means having a grounded sense of the body without losing the freedom of mobility, the ability to love one’s self and others, and a clear focus regarding one’s purpose in life. Drawing on my background in Craniosacral Therapy, my work has tended to focus in the areas of head, neck, and jaw discomfort. In fact, the treatment of neck pain accounts for about ninety percent of my practice.

I feel that the “unwinding” technique I use for facilitating the relief of neck pain is a beautiful merger of skills that have grown from studying art, Tai Chi, juggling, and massage. When I do this work I feel as though my whole collection of life experiences has come together for the purpose of the massage I deliver to the client, from the calmness and moving meditative quality of Tai Chi to the strength, intense focus and clarity of purpose informing a brush stroke mixed with the playfulness and spontaneity of juggling.

In the course of my studies with international lecturer and therapist Hugh Milne, a third generation Osteopath, founder of the Milne Institute and author of The Heart of Listening, I quickly moved into the role of teacher assistant. I have been a teaching assistant for the Milne Institute since 2005. The opportunity to work alongside Hugh and Giorgia Milne helped bring my skills as a therapist to a new level.

I have made it a personal quest to find out as much as I can about the human body and how massage can help people at the deepest and most subtle levels.
